Pairs really well with the super speeds and has a cool rainbow flare. The Optex 5.5mm (not this exact lens) was used quite a bit on “Poor Things.” This is one of the only other Optex original lenses.

They are all cinevised with 0.8 gears for focus and iris, 80mm OD fronts, 77mm threads, converted to EF mount and with caps that read in both feet and metres alongside the f/stop.
Note, the lenses have not been rehoused with a common 270 degree focus throw, for example, but cinevised and at their core retain the focus throw and mechanics native to the stills lens.
The set was lovingly put together over two years with many multiple copies of each focal length purchased and returned, for the absolute best condition and to eliminate modern green/ magenta flares wherever possible, opting for mostly amber or blue flares.
This is the best set of vintage EF mount lenses for video work I have ever seen for sale, anywhere online. With a staggering 14 primes, all mostly at f/2, the Olympus OM set is the most consistent and diverse stills lens set for video work ever made.
A set of compact full frame lenses like this are an incredible asset. The fact that the 18mm can cover full frame, with an 80mm OD front, where Zero Optik requires a 114mm front, is somewhat of a miracle.
This set includes the rare 70mm Pen-F, which fills the all-too common gap between 50mm and 85mm in stills lens sets. To add to that, my 70mm is one of the only 70mm Pen-F lenses in the world that has been successfully modded for EF mount.
The focus and iris gears and common fronts were modded by OM-Labor in Germany, who guarantees the work. The caps are from Simmod in the USA. The cases were beautifully made by Case Design here in the UK to my specifications.
Three things to note: 1. The original 40mm lens’ iris rotated the front of the lens, so to prevent any iris rotation with a matte box on, a tuneable gear is added to the 40mm iris, that can be locked down and/or have its tension adjusted. 2. To get the 70mm onto an EF mount, the trade off is that a) there are no reliable distance markings, unlike the other primes, and b) the iris rotates in the opposite direction to the other primes. 3. Because the 70mm was added later to the set after much R&D, the green colouration of the Simmod cap slightly differs to the other lenses.
